it's the little things

Have you ever noticed that sometimes when life gets busy, you just forget to notice all the ways that God is continually blessing you. If you woke up this morning, then you are blessed. If you decided what to eat, drink, or wear, then you are blessed beyond belief! If you were able to wake up and drive, hitch a ride, or walk to church--a church that you freely choose to attend--then fall on your face right now. Life can be busy and hard and full of trials, but isn't that what He said it would be about? Isn't it the trials in life that give you perseverance? As Pastor Reggie Hunt has said MANY times, there are 32,000 promises in the Bible and not ONE of them says you won't suffer. It's how you decide to deal with the suffering. Are you going to trust God and know that His will can be and is an uncomfortable place or are you going to whine and not see how those moments can be used to glorify God? I think the first one is probably the best one. God is so good, even in the times that we don't see a way out or a way to be joyful, knowing that He his by our side is reason enough.

I know the journey seems so long
You feel you’re walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone
--Jeremy Camp, "There Will Be a Day"

Those lyrics have really hit me hard these past couple of days. And I believe the reason is that life has shifted and changed so much in the past few months, and I need to be reminded, that no matter how much they change, He is still the same. He has not shifted in any way. And what a relief that is!
Okay, so another thing that I am so thankful for is that my birthday is in a matter of days!!! Andrew and I will be celebrating by going to a pumpkin patch, enjoying the day together and going to a wonderful dinner. I am really excited about the pumpkin patch because the high is only 55 and that is PERFECT fall weather! Have a mentioned that I love this season?
