It's the most wonderful time of the year

The past 3 days have spent doing perfect Christmas season things; shopping, eating, baking cookies, and decorating! I have to say, our apartment looks pretty amazing. While I was at work on Friday (blah) Andrew pulled out all of our Christmas decorations and made our deck look beautiful! It was so nice coming home that evening and seeing it all lit up with garland wrapped around the railing. We went to dinner at Chili's (thanks mom for the gift card) and then went to pick out our tree. It's amazing how much thought and discussion goes into what would seem like a simple task. We had to make sure it wasn't too short or tall, that it was full enough, etc, etc. In the end, I believe we picked out the perfect tree, along with a couple of wreaths and a Christmas outdoor mat! Needless to say, I was acting like a 6 year old all of Friday night.
**Side Note: It was a pretty intense task trying to tie a 7ft tree to Andrew's car that has no roof rack or anything similar.**
We finished decorating the tree Saturday morning before I left for Andrew's parent's house to make homemade Christmas cookies. And although it was fun, it became slightly tedious. But the cookies were super good and it was nice to spend time with my mother/sister in laws.
The Janke Women!
And let me tell you, Christmas cookies are taken seriously in this house. There were a WHOLE lot of cookies. And I was struggling not to eat them all...
I got a lot accomplished this weekend though (other than just making cookies) because I got a lot of Christmas shopping completed. And I can't wait for them to get opened in a few weeks!! And I also made our table look beautiful (at least in my opinion)
The glasses have a winter tree scene which I got at a yard sale for like $4. I love good deals! And I love our apartment right now. It really is the most wonderful time of the year! AND another part that made this weekend so great is knowing that since App won yesterday, Andrew and I will be in Boone next Saturday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I love those glasses. Lola and Lacy have the same ones but they were missing a few so I bought them some at a yard sale.
