A Jump Start to my Bloggers Block

2.06.2011

There are several posts that I want to write, but for some reason I just can't get my mind where it needs to be in order to do it.

One post that I'll eventually get around to is on sacrifice. It's been on my heart a lot lately and I think that no matter what stage of life you're in, there are sacrifices you have to make.

"What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ"--Philippians 3:8

But like I said, I need to have my thoughts in order for that post to be what it should. God has been revealing a lot to me that I need to work on and one of them is appreciating the sacrifices I've made as the years have passed in my life. And like Pastor said this morning, they're going to be uncomfortable and difficult, but that's the way it should be.

On another, completely unrelated note, the North Carolina Tar Heels are doing spectacular. They are currently tied for first in the ACC with a conference record of 7-1.  There was a minor speed bump on Friday with the unexpected announcement that Larry Drew {back up point guard} had left. Now, I understand players have to do what is best for them and their family, but when a junior has to have his father call the coach in order to do it, I have zero respect for that "player". And what's more ridiculous is the whole timing of it. He gains nothing by leaving at this point. It was selfish move that could have potentially put his team in a sticky situation. But today, the Heels proved that they'll be just fine without him. They shot 56% for the game and Kendall Marshall had a record setting 16 assists by a UNC player in any ACC game. Peace out Larry Drew...you will not be missed.

Wednesday night, the Tar Heels will face Duke for the first time this season.

And at this point...I'm feelin' pretty good about.
