Resurrection Weekend!

Happy Monday! What an amazing weekend! As always, it went by far too fast, but it was wonderful just the same.

Saturday morning, I got ready to head to Mount Airy to meet my parents at my great grandpa's house to take him to lunch. It was so good to see him, because I haven't since Thanksgiving! Which doesn't seem possible, but that is life...always flying by. I got there a little after 12 and we all headed to the restaurant to eat. It was a buffet, which is always a little worrisome, but I found enough to eat so that I didn't look too picky. After that, we went back to his house for a little bit, and I'm so glad we did. Not only did I get some more quality time with my sweet great grandpa, but he blessed me with 2 necklaces that belonged to my great grandma.
{please excuse the poor quality...taken with my phone}
Loved this. I think it could be real jade

my great grandparents!! on the back of the locket is my great grandma's name
I was thankful to receive these necklaces, because it's awesome to own something that was my great grandma's for so long. They were married for over 60 years and their love was and still is evident. I of course had to get a picture with this sweet man before I left!
not bad lookin' for 95 years young!
When I got home around on Saturday, I was greeted with a beautifully cut yard and flowers planted by the mailbox!

We're still working on the yard, but once it's more complete, I'll definitely post some more {better} pictures. Sunday morning we left way earlier than normal for church in anticipation for the large Easter crowd, and that effort was certainly not in vain! I just hope and pray that some of those newcomers come back in the coming weeks and don't wait a year to come back. The sermon was such a blessing {as it always is} and I was reminded of how thankful hubby and I need to be for the amazing church family we are apart of. Easter dinner was at Andrew's parents and it was sooo good. We had a rather non traditional meal of tequila chicken {let me know if you're interested in the recipe!}, baked potatoes, salad and root beer floats for dessert. Delish! And of course, we took too many pictures...
